| Kat-102 Nobutomo Tokubetsu Hozon Katana By Kashu Nobutomo One of the most famous blades made by Kashu Nobutomo. Nobutomo was a smith that worked in the 1600’s and made many swords for those under the Maeda Daimyo. Kaga blades were very famous for their exquisite sharpness, and their reputation was so well known, that there are many blades from the Kaga Schools that have test cut signatures on their tangs. This blade in particular is most likely the rarest and most famous Nobutomo. Not only has the blade been tested twice, but is also published in the Kaga Taikan. Wide bodied blade has a super nice hamon made up of saka choji midare. Nie and ko nie make up the hamon, ashi is present. The jigane is a well knit itame with masame, large chikei in places. A set of niju hi (double grooves) are wellcut and run the full lebgth of the blade on both sides. The extended chu kissaki is very healthy and has a notare komi boshi that is unaltered. The blade is very healthy, and one would be proud to wear such a blade. The tang is ubu with 1 hole. There are 2 tameshimei, one on each side of the tang. A very rare 4 body test is stated on one side, with a 2 body test on the ura. The test was done by a samurai named Murai Toemon. An additional mei states that the blade was kept by Okumura Inaba no Kami Kazutoyo. There is almost no more room on the tang with all of the added inscriptions, just the tang alone is gorgeous!!!. 1600’s Omote: Kashu Kanazawa Ju Nin Fujiwara Nobutomo Yotsudo Dodan Barai Murai Toemon Nagaaki (kao) Sama Kore Okumura Inaba no Kami Kazutoyo Shoji Kore Ura: Futatsu do Dodan Barai Kirite Murai ToemonNagaaki (Kao) Naka Oke Sue Ryo Do Dodan Barai Do Nin (Kao)Sama Kor 68.3cm SOLD
