C-113 Large Bird and Oar Menuki

Excellent huge menuki design of Crane on shakudo oars and hat. Good use of mixed metal, the base is done in shakudo with gold hat and mixed gold and shakudo on crane. These menuki are unusually large and would make for great conversation piece or mounting on a katana. The work is likely that of Kyoto region around mid/late Edo period. Has nice feeling of the river and good fortune. A very nice pair of menuki for both fine mounting or collecting.
